After attaining a BS in Accounting and working for several Fortune 500 corporations as a Financial Systems Analyst, Carol realized that the amount of hours needed to do a first class job at work conflicted with her desire to be a good wife and mother to her two daughters.
With a family history in the jewelry business - her grandfather, father and uncles were all self-employed in New York’s Diamond District - Carol decided to give up her Wall Street career and follow in their footsteps. She established Inner Expressions in 1993.
Carol’s vision was to be a creative jewelry consultant who provides service in the comfort of the client’s own home. Doing business in this way would let Carol educate her clients, establish trust, and develop long-lasting relationships. This would also enable her to keep overhead to a minimum, allowing her to set her pricing way below the retail market.
All of the jewelry created by Inner Expressions is designed to the exact specifications of each customer, taking into consideration the occasion, budget, and timing. Carol begins with a blank palette, and after much consultation a prized possession is created.
In addition, as the market price per ounce of gold has skyrocketed, a significant portion of Inner Expressions’ business is purchasing scrap gold for cash. Carol pays clients more than any other local jewelry, returns all gemstones at no cost to the consumer, and provides door-to-door service.
